Our Surgical Center Services

At Wesson and Mothershed Eye Center we offer a comprehensive range of eye care services and surgical procedures in a single location, eliminating the need for you to visit a hospital.

We pride ourselves on providing personalized care to our patients. Our in-house surgical center allows for continuity in speaking to the doctors and experienced staff that you are familiar with, creating a greater level of comfort for you.

What You Can Expect

Most patients are in and out within an hour to an hour and a half on average, since theyā€™ve completed their pre-op testing & measurements, insurance & financing planning, and discussions with their eye doctor in advance. Our center specializes in all areas of eye care, and especially eye surgery.

We even have hospital suites that provide our patients with their own space, along with an attentive staff to support them on their day of surgery. Cataract surgery is one of our core services, with Dr. Miles and Dr. Childs both performing out-patient cataract surgery at our Tupelo Surgery Center, which has two operating rooms.

Our mission at Wesson and Mothershed Eye Center is to bring our patients the level of care they deserve through our team of passionate and dedicated eye care professionals. We welcome you to our patient family and invite you to contact us for any eye care services you may need.

Our Surgical Center Has Two Main Offerings

At our eye center, Dr. Sonya Miles, a fellowship-trained Oculoplastic Surgeon, performs eyelid surgeries at our clinic. We offer eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, which reduces puffy eyes or bagginess. Additionally, we provide treatment for ectropion and entropion, two eye conditions that affect the eyelids.

We offer different types of intraocular lenses (IOLs), including the PanOptix Lens, Light Adjustable Lenses (LALs), and Tecnis Symfony Lens, which can be discussed with any of out eye doctors to meet your unique lifestyle needs. Glaucoma testing and treatment are another critical part of our services. Glaucoma is a severe eye disease that damages the optic nerve and can lead to vision loss. Our team can help diagnose and treat this condition, and we offer the iStentĀ® Trabecular Micro-Bypass to add to your cataract surgery to manage glaucoma.
